Lake Nipissing is located in Ontario right between the Georgian Bay and the Ottawa River. This is the third largest lake in the province of Ontario if you do not include the Great Lakes. It is kind of shallow considering its size, but this just provides a lot of sandbars around the shoreline which makes for interesting shore fishing. There are also several islands located within this lake and most of them are protected by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. The city of North Bay is not far away, and this is the largest populated area around the lake’s shore. However, there are some additional towns in the outskirts like Callander, but most larger towns are located on the west end of the lake and are Garden Village, Sturgeon Falls, Lavigne and Cache Bay.
Lake Nipissing flows into Lake Huron through the Georgian Bay. Many people choose to fish this lake because it is home to an amazing 40 species of fish.
