Spectacle Lake is a private lake that houses the Lavant Fish and Game Club. The owner of the company I used to work for was a member and used to take us all there once a year. You cannot fish there without a membership or invitation from a member, and do not try to enter the club's property as it is fenced and locked.
This seems to be a private lake. There is no public access nor is there a ramp to put a boat in. The lake is tiny, less than 5 acres i estimate. More a pond than a lake. Cannot contain much in terms of fish.
We never know what to expect on this awesome fishery. May has been a banner month for trolling up trophy sized giant lake trout. Current limit is two lakers per angler and we have been getting that nearly every trip. We have also caught a few early season Atlantic salmon. Typically in June we will also be catching king salmon and brown trout. Get out on the water and join the fun!
Beautiful lake with many coves to explore. Several sand beaches on crown land with great camping and swimming. Averaging under 20' deep with 40' in places. A rocky lake with large shallow areas, points/shoals that extend far into the main lake. Lots of experience needed before getting too courageous with the throttle. 2 public boat landings with tricky entrances into the main lake. SW cove landing has a very good road, enters the lake in a cove with several islands. Staying close to the south end of Birch island is one safe way to enter the main lake. Pass between it and the small Pine Island on your right. Continue a few hundred yards past Birch Is. before turning up lake as there is a rocky shoal running parallel on the east side.
The other landing is on the east side in the "Basin" not far from the beginning of the Oromocto River. The road in is rough but passable. The entrance to the main lake is thru "the Jaws" it's narrow and shallow, raise your motor and go slow picking your way on the right (north) side of the Jaws when you exit the Basin. The locals are very friendly and willing to help with directions or simply "follow me".
A relaxed pace is evident on Oromocto Lake with pontoon boats and various pleasure craft, few "watercraft/jetskis". Take a look at the Oromocto Lake Association (OLA)Facebook page for pictures and a pretty good map of the lake with depths.
